Kushesh Express Becomes First in Africa to Deploy Hanwha TNS-9050IBC Barcode Cameras for Logistics Optimization
Kushesh Express has successfully implemented and integrated five units of the Hanwha TNS-9050IBC barcode camera system, marking a continental first in advanced logistics automation.
This milestone follows an intensive eight-week proof-of-concept phase, during which the TNS-9050IBC demonstrated exceptional performance in high-speed barcode capture, real-time inventory tracking, and seamless integration with existing warehouse management systems. Based on the compelling data and operational improvements observed, Kushesh proceeded with a full deployment.
The integration was led by Guardian Eye, a premier provider of bespoke intelligent surveillance and monitoring solutions across Southern Africa. With a strong national footprint in enterprise offsite monitoring with AI for security CCTV, retail barcode analytics, and industrial automation, Guardian Eye brings deep technical expertise in vision-based systems and IoT integration. Their ability to tailor solutions for high-throughput environments made them the ideal partner for this pioneering deployment.
Distribution and technical support were provided by LunarX Consulting and Projects, Hanwha’s official channel partner for Sub-Sahara Africa. LunarX is known for its strategic focus on emerging technologies, regulatory compliance, and scalable deployment models. With a growing presence in healthcare, logistics, aviation, mining, and smart infrastructure, LunarX has positioned itself as a trusted enabler of innovation across the continent.
The TNS-9050IBC barcode camera – renowned for its precision imaging, AI-enhanced decoding, and industrial-grade durability – has already transformed logistics operations across Europe. Notable installations include pharmaceutical distribution centers in Germany, cold-chain hubs in the Netherlands, and high-throughput e-commerce facilities in Poland. Its deployment at Kushesh Express now brings this cutting-edge technology to Africa for the first time.
“We’re proud to pioneer this innovation in Africa,” said a spokesperson from Kushesh Express. “The TNS-9050IBC has elevated our logistics capabilities, reduced manual scanning errors, and positioned us to meet growing demand with greater agility and accuracy.”
This implementation sets a new benchmark for logistics automation in the region, with potential applications across healthcare, retail, and manufacturing sectors. It also underscores the growing role of intelligent vision systems in driving operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
